Music, frequencies, spoken guidance and somatic cues are layered together to help the nervous system drop into a deeply receptive state. You set the pace; the audio makes the experience more supported and complete. Breath Vortex offers certified 9D Breathwork sessions in Wollert, Reservoir, Kalkallo and Fawkner.

Do I need any experience?

No experience is needed. Most Breath Vortex clients have never done breathwork before. You do not need to know how to meditate, sit still or breathe a certain way. You simply arrive, and Roz guides the rest.

What happens during a session?

A Breath Vortex session begins with a conversation to set an intention. You then lie down with headphones and eye covers while Roz guides you through the full experience. The breathing gently shifts your nervous system so stored stress and old patterns can soften, and the session finishes with integration and a clear next step to take back into your life.

Is breathwork safe?

Yes, when facilitated properly. Every Breath Vortex session is designed to work with your nervous system rather than push against it, and every client is screened through an intake form beforehand. You stay in control throughout and can slow down, pause or stop at any time. Nothing is forced.

Will I have to relive my past?

Accepted Answer

No. Breathwork at Breath Vortex is trauma-aware, so there is no need to talk through old stories, revisit specific memories or explain anything you do not want to. The body knows how to release without the mind having to relive.

What if I get emotional?

Emotion is welcome and completely normal during breathwork. Some people cry, some laugh, some feel a wave of quiet. All of it is safe, and Roz is with you the whole way through.

Is it like meditation?

No. Meditation gently observes the nervous system, while breathwork actively shifts it. Most people find breathwork faster and more embodied than meditation alone, especially when it is hard to sit still or switch off.

Breath Vortex private 1:1 and 2:1 sessions are open to men and women across Melbourne's northern suburbs, including adults navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, grief or life transitions; teenagers aged 13 to 20 building confidence and emotional regulation; new mothers seeking nervous system support after pregnancy and birth; parents wanting stronger co-regulation with their children; and professionals, carers and business owners living with chronic stress. The Rewire Circle is women only, and Parent & Child workshops are for children aged 6 to 12 with a parent or caregiver.

Can teenagers take part?

Yes. Roz works with teenagers aged 13 to 20 in private breathwork sessions to build emotional resilience, confidence and calm. Parents are welcome to be part of the intake conversation.

Motherhood asks a lot of the nervous system, and these sessions offer a space to release what pregnancy, birth and early motherhood have quietly stored, so you can meet yourself and your child from a calmer place.

How many sessions will I need?

Most people notice a shift after one breathwork session. Deeper, lasting change tends to happen inside a short series, where the work has time to stabilise. Roz will talk through what is right for you, with no pressure to commit to more than the next step.

Are there any reasons I shouldn't do breathwork?

Accepted Answer

Breathwork is generally very safe, but it is not advised in some situations, including severe cardiovascular conditions, uncontrolled epilepsy, recent surgery and some serious mental health conditions. Pregnancy is not off the table: Roz regularly adapts sessions for expecting mothers and has safely guided pregnant clients, including high-risk pregnancies, using a modified, gentler practice with careful monitoring. Every Breath Vortex client completes an intake form before their first session, so your pregnancy can be discussed up front and the session tailored around it. If you are unsure, mention it on your enquiry and Roz will work out what is right for you.

How are clients screened for safety?

Every client is screened through an in-depth intake form before their first session, so Roz understands your health history and can tailor the session or recommend another path if breathwork isn't right for you yet. Breath Vortex holds professional indemnity insurance.

Who is Roz and what are her qualifications?

Roslyn (Roz) Wieland is the founder of Breath Vortex and a certified 9D Breathwork facilitator with over a decade in holistic health. She holds a Bachelor of Science, an FDN certification and a university qualification in functional medicine, which give her an in-depth understanding of the body's biochemistry and structure, particularly the stress response and nervous system. She is not currently registered as a functional medicine practitioner.

Yes. Breath Vortex private sessions can be 1:1 or 2:1 with a partner, family member or close friend. Same depth of work, two people held in the same room.

Breath Vortex private sessions run from the Wollert home studio in Melbourne's northern suburbs. The Rewire Circle runs at partner clinics in Reservoir, Kalkallo and Fawkner, and Roz also travels across Melbourne's northern suburbs, including Epping, Whittlesea and Mernda, for private and event work.

What should I wear or bring?

Wear comfortable, loose clothing and bring a water bottle. Everything else is provided, including the mat, bolster, blanket, eye mask and headphones.
